James Douglas Lipsey, Sr.

James was born June 2, 1952 to Lazo and  Oberia Hatchett Lipsey in Pontotoc County, MS. James was the fifth child born of nine to this union.

On Sunday, September 15, 2019, after a lengthy illness, James peacefully departed this earth to be with the Lord.

James accepted Christ at a young age and joined Usher Valley United Methodist Church where he was a member.

James served his country with honor as a U.U. Marine.

James enjoyed being around his family and spending time with his family and friends.

James leaves to cherish his memory two biological children Mesela (Pam) and James Jr. (Maikaia); one adopted son Matthew (Betty), his mother Oberia Hatchett Lipsey, three sisters; J. Elaine Hall, Verneda Terrell and Gloria Mitchell; two brothers; Larry and Marcus.

James was preceded in death by his father Lazo Lipsey and three brothers; J.D., C.B., and John Willis.
