James Earl Cole

James Earl Cole, 65, of Michigan City, MS, transitioned on  Friday, January 26, 2024, at Diversicare in Ripley, MS.

James Earl Cole was born March 27, 1958 to the late Lucille Bogard and Tommie Perry in Benton County, Ashland, MS. He attended Ashland High School. James loved family gatherings and fishing.

God saw that James was tired and whispered "My child come and take your rest."  Now there's no more pain. James transitioned from this earthly life on January 26, 2024 at the Diversity Health Care, Ripley, MS. 

James was united in loving matrimony to his devoted wife, Georgia Harris Cole on August 24, 1993.

James is preceded in death by his mother; Lucille Bogard, sisters; Fannie Hampton and Brenda Hampton, brothers; William Cole, Eddie Wayne Hampton and Erodney Perry.

James leaves to cherish his memories is wife; Georgia Harris Cole, two loving children; Cassandra Joy and Marco Joy both of Michigan City, MS, six grandchildren; Dominique, Taniya, Corderion, Kyson, Makaree and Logan, ten brothers; Charles (Lovie) Cole of Lamar, MS, David Hampton, Jerry (Margaret) Hampton, Sylvester (Angela) Hampton of Ashland, MS, Darrell Hampton of Ripley, MS, Michael Hampton of Memphis, TN, Michael Perry, Stevie Perry, Lamerio Perry and Tamie Terrel Perry of Chicago, IL, two sisters; Teresa McKay of Lamar, MS and Sarah Hudson of Ashland, MS, one aunt; Velma Bogard of St. Louis, MO, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS  38635

Services will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS  38635

Burial will take place at Solid Rock Cemetery.
