Mr. James Bean, 81, of Houlka, MS, transitioned on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at New Albany Health & Rehab Center, New Albany, MS
James E. Bean was born on August 20, 1943, to the late L.C. Bean and Rosie Cook McGlun in Chickasaw County, MS. On Sunday, September 8, 2024, he transitioned at New Albany Health and Rehab Center in New Albany, MS.
James accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Macedonia Church in Houlka, MS. He was employed with MPI Inc for several years. James enjoyed watching westerns, gardening, squirrel hunting, and raising pigs.
James leaves to cherish his loving memories: one son: Kavial Bean (Sawana) of Prairie, MS; two daughters: Shelia Kirby of Milwaukee, WI and Regina Williamson of Dundalk, MD; three brothers: Joe L. Bean, Willie Rex Bean, and Melvin Bean all of Houlka, MS; four sisters: Ella Jean Jefferson, Ada Mae Brinker both of Houlka, MS, Virginia Irby of Pontotoc, MS, and Linda Hill of WI; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
James was preceded in death by his loving parents: L.C. Bean and Rosie Cook McGlun; two brothers: Jimmy Bean and Willie C. Bean; one sister: Annie Ruth Turner; and one grandson Jamarquis Hamilton.
Visitation will be head on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 248 Highway 15 South, Pontotoc, MS 38663
Services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 248 Highway 15 South, Pontotoc, MS 38863
Burial will take place at Thompson Chapel Church Cemetery (East County Line) on 937 County road 308, Houlka, MS 38850
