Ilee Alexander

Ilee Venson Alexander was born June 21, 1922 to the union of Cebrin and Carra Ardella Venson in Pontotoc County in Pontotoc, Mississippi. Ilee was the second oldest of six children.
Ilee accepted Christ at an early age and joined United House of Prayer in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. Ilee was a faithful and dedicated worker in the kitchen of United House of Prayer until her health begin to fail her.
She then retired from her duties in the church kitchen.
Ilee united in holy matrimony to General Alexander and to this union, they had one child: Bobby Alexander.
Ilee never met a stranger and enjoyed bringing smiles to the faces of everyone she met.

Ilee retired from Ripley Mississippi Health Department
where she worked as a nurse for many years. Ilee loved cooking and cleaning and always kept a very tidy home. The last three years of Ilee’s life was spent with her son, Bobby and his wife, Kathy. It wasn’t long that Kathy discovered that she had to cook homemade meals for her mother-in-law. Ilee’s favorite meal was poultry, especially chicken wings.
She also loved sweet potatoes along with some cornbread.

Ilee departed her earthly journey on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 10:24 a.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her three sisters: Eunice Bynum, Ester Henderson, and Ora Simmons and her two brothers: Delma Venson and E. J. Venson.

Those left to cherish wonderful memories of Ilee Venson Alexander include her son: Bobby Alexander and her special daughter-in-law: Kathy of Columbus, Ms; Eight grandchildren; Eleven great grandchildren;
Fifteen great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
