Mr. Henry Lewis Briggs,  76, Lamar, MS, transitioned on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Methodist Hospital, Olive Branch, MS

Mr. Henry Lewis Briggs, was born on March 21, 1947, to the late Theodore Jessie Briggs, Sr., and Cora Lee Henderson Briggs, in St. Louis, MO. On Friday, February 16, 2024, he transitioned to his heavenly home.

Henry accepted Christ at an early age, and attended Concord M.B. Church in Lamar, MS. He was a collector of cars, loved attending family gatherings, fishing, a self-employed truck driver; he was funny, and a great jokester; a fan of Chicago Cubs Baseball and Chicago Bears Football.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents: Theodore Jessie Briggs and Cora Lee Henderson Briggs; three sons: Fredrick Briggs, Henry Briggs Jr. “Jack”, and Reggie Veasey; two brothers: Theodore Briggs Jr., and James Briggs “Pete”; one sister: Anita Wyatt.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons: Eric S. Briggs (Toya) of Chicago, IL, Darren Veasey of Memphis, TN; two daughters: Annette Briggs of Chicago, IL, Sharonda Veasey of Memphis, TN; two brothers: Ted Briggs (Carolyn) of Memphis, TN, Victor J. Briggs (Connie) of Lamar, MS; three sisters: Corine McGowan (Vinson) of Southaven, MS, Marilyn Rankin Polk (William) of Memphis, TN, and Brenda Joyce Briggs of Byhalia, MS; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one aunt: Ida Mae Briggs of Memphis, TN; one uncle: Willie Briggs of Memphis, TN, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024,  4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS  38635

Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at  11:00 a.m., at Concord M. B. Church, 755 Concord Road, Lamar, MS  38642

Burial will take place in the Church Cemetery
