Henry Eric Adkins

Henry Eric Adkins, 55, transitioned on Monday, February 3, 2025, at his residence in Myrtle, MS.

Henry Eric Adkins was born April 11, 1969. in Evanston, IL to the late Henry Wilson Adkins and Earlene Gordon Adkins. He professed his faith in Jesus at an early age and joined Palestine MB Church. Eric was a graduate of Myrtle Attendance Center and attended Northeast Community College. He was a long-time employee of Piper Impact, where he worked until the closing of the company.  A devoted father, loving grandfather, and caring brother, Eric’s life reflected faith, love, and resilience. He was a man who valued family above all, leaving a legacy of kindness and compassion for those who knew and loved him.

Eric is survived by his four beloved children, Devon Adkins of New Albany, MS, Makayla Adkins of New Albany, MS, Abigail Adkins of Huntsville, AL, and Austin Adkins of Huntsville, AL, and his treasured grandson, Zesus Adkins. He also leaves behind his devoted sisters Patricia Cook (Joe Paul) of Blue Mountain, MS Andrea Adkins of Blue Mountain, MS , and Margaret Hill Of Blue Mountain, MS; his brother Steve Adkins of Blue Mountain, MS; and his double first cousin Darrell Gordon of Myrtle, MS. Eric’s life was further blessed by his special friend, Kelly Floyd, who held a dear place in his heart. Eric also had a host beloved of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Earlene Adkins; two brothers, Robert Lewis Swain and Timothy Adkins; his sister, Lisa Adkins Spearman; five aunts; and four uncles.

Eric had an unforgettable presence that brought joy to his family and friends. His warm heart, enduring strength, and selflessness will forever be cherished. Though we mourn his passing, we find comfort in knowing Eric has been reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him. His love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home, 722 Coulter Drive, New Albany, MS  38652.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2:30 p.m., at New Birth Community Church, 614 Glade Avenue, New Albany, MS  38652.

Burial will take place at Adkins Chapel Church Cemetery, Blue Mountain, MS.
