Glenda Marie Williams

Mrs. Glenda Marie Williams, 62, transitioned on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at her residence in Blue Mountain, MS. 

Glenda Marie Williams was born October 10, 1958 to George and Ammie Jean Peterson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She departed this life at her home in Blue Mountain, MS on February 24, 2021 at the age of sixty-two.

Glenda received her formal education in the Milwaukee Public School systems. Later she attended Milwaukee Area Technical College where she attained her Certificates for Upholstery and Small Appliance Repair.

Glenda married Carl Williams in 1997, later to divorce. Later in life she met her long time spouse, Joe Grey. When she was not working, she enjoyed gardening, fishing, dancing, listening to the Blues and entertaining family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; George Peterson, mother; Ammie Armstrong, siblings; Curtis, Connie and Larry Peterson.

Glenda leaves to cherish her memories her spouse, Joe Grey. Her children; LaTasha Knox (Michael) of Milwaukee, WI, Lamar Williams (Jariel) of Blue Mountain, MS, Allen Williams and Jalesa Garner (Milton) of Corinth, MS, her siblings; Lisa Marks and Lamar Peterson of Ripley, MS, Jackie Cole (Ray) of Memphis, TN, Chenell Peterson, Nancy Scroggins of Milwaukee, WI and special daughter/granddaughter; ShaQueena Buford (CJ) of New Albany, MS, twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 1p.m., at Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
