Mr. George Brown, Jr., 77, transitioned on Sunday, April 11, 2021 Baptist-DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, MS.
Mr. George Brown Jr. was born September 9, 1943 to the late George & Verlie Anderson Brown of Lamar, MS, departed this life on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Baptist Desoto.
Just like he dealt with all experiences of life, George managed his illness with strength and grace. On his final days, he was surrounded by his children, whom he adored more than anything else in the world.
George worked many jobs in his lifetime; but his favorite was helping others. He loved to fish and surround himself with his loved ones.
Mr. George Brown Jr. adored his father, brother & grandfather; he leaves to cherish his memories; three sons, Terry Lawrence, Jeremy Schlender-Brown, both of Holly Springs, MS, and Frankie (Erica) Higgins of Aurora, IL; four daughters, Tracy Pryor of Aurora, IL, Laketsha Jeffries of Olive Branch, MS, Stephanie (DeMarcus) Malone, Kianna Sclender-Brown, both of Holly Springs, MS; his good friend, Nita Schlender-Brown of Holly Springs, MS; one goddaughter, Jannie Brown of Holly Springs, MS; three brothers, Jessie Brown of Aurora, IL, Orlando (Lemmie) Brown, Herman Brown both of Holly Springs, MS; one sister, Mosella Phillips Griffin of Holly Springs, MS; 31 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
George Jr. was proceeded in death by his parents, George Sr., and Verlie Anderson Brown, three sisters, Nina Fate Bryson, Lucy Mae Hampton, and Dorothey Barns, three brothers, Roy Brown, Eddie B. Brown, Clyde Lewis, and one son, Michael Holloway.
Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 1p.m., at Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Holly Springs. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 11a.m., until 12:30p.m., at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel.
