Gary Donovan Ambrose

Mr. Gary Donovan Ambrose, 56, transitioned on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Baptist East Memorial Hospital, Memphis, TN.

Mr. Gary Donovan Ambrose was born May 29, 1967, in Memphis, TN to Mr. Lawrence Gatewood and the late Burnett Fitzpatrick.

He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Faith Temple Church, which is now Faith Fellowship Church of God in Christ in Slayden. MS.  Gary attended Sand Flat High School which is now H.W.  Byers, in Mt. Pleasant MS. Gary was employed at Oil Dry, located in Blue Mountain, MS. Gary was employed for 25 years where he worked until his health fell.

Gary Leaves to cherish his memories his father:  Mr. Lawrence Gatewood, of Holly Springs, MS; one son: Gary D. Gatewood Jr. of New Albany, MS; one daughter Alison Ambrose of Memphis, TN; three brothers: Lee Eddie Fitchpatrick, of Holly Springs, MS; Charles R. Fitzpatrick of Memphis, TN, Elvis (Jackie) Gatewood of Holly Springs MS; three sisters  Sandra (Doyle) Morrow of Oxford, MS, Gayle (Casey) Bush of Holly Springs, MS, Lekitha (Howard) Brown of  Memphis, TN; three grandchildren Skylar, Braylon, and Harper Hill of New Albany, MS;  three special friends Linda Tallie, Eric Clark, and Andrew Jones, and a  host of uncles, aunts nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss Gary dearly.

Gary is now with his mother Burnett and his brother Shun Gatewood.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS  38635.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Faith Fellowship Church of God in Christ, 2580 Roberts Chapel Road, Slayden, MS  38642.

Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
