Florence L. (Campbell) Shaw Barr

Ms. Florence L. Campbell Shaw Barr, 83, transitioned on Friday, June 12, 2020 at her home in Bellefintaine, Missouri. She was born on July 8, 1936 in Coffeeville, MS. She was the fifth child born to the union R.V. Campbell and Alberta Rice Campbell. Florence was educated in Coffeeville School System. She accepted Christ at an early age united with Bethlehem M.B. Church under the patoralship of Rev. W.M. Brown.

Florence met the love of her life Cefus Shaw, Sr., and was united in Holy Matrimony on April 4, 1953. God Blessed this union with seven children. The Family relocated to New Orleans, LA, years later the family returned to Coffeeville, MS. Florence eventually found employment with Holly Carburetor, now known as Borh Warner in Water Valley, MS. The family decided to move to Water Valley, MS, to be near her job. 

Florence united with the Everdale M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Larry Hervey. After 20 years of labor, she retired. During this time of residence, she met and was united in marriage to Edgar Barr. Florence transitioned from her earthly home into her heavenly mansion in the early morning hours on Friday, June 12th in the city of Bellefontaine and the state of Missouri, where she had resided since 2017 with her daughter Carrie and son-in-law: Samuel.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories one daughter: Carrie (Samuel) Whiteside of St. Louis, Missouri. Two sons: Cefus Shaw, Jr., and Brian Shaw both of Water Valley, MS. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: R.V. Campbell and Alberta Rice Campbell, both husbands: Cefus Shaw, Sr., and Edgar Barr. Her siblings: Eva Mary Sylvester, John, Eddie, David, four children, special son/grandson: D'Anthony McCollins.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 10a.m. at Greater Sanders Chapel M.B. Church in Water Valley, MS. Burial will take place at East Pine Grove M.B. Church in Water Valley. Serenity-Daniels Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 3-6p.m. at Serenity-Daniels Funeral Home in Water Valley.
