Eugene "Cowboy" Penson

Mr. Eugene "Cowboy" Penson, 76, transitioned on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley, MS. Eugene Penson answered The Master's Call. He left this earthly world behind and entered into eternal life. He was born on August 1st, 1944 to the late Ollie Penson and Louise Sanders Penson.

Eugene loved God, he accepted Christ at an early age. He served God until his death. He was a member of Golden Gate Cathedral Church of God in Christ in New Albany, MS, under the leadership of Superintendent Robert L. Hamilton, Sr,. He was a singer and formed a group with his brothers and friends called; ''Dawning Light." He was a hardworking individual and retired from Watkins and Shepheard Trucking. He united in Holy Matrimony with Molise Taylor Penson, this union was until his death.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife: Molise Penson of Hickory Flat, MS; his daughters: Mary (Howard) Baker of Saltillo, MS; Tonya Penson of Nettleton, MS; Shirley Taylor of Hickory Flat, MS; Vickie King of Tupelo, MS; his sons: Dewayne Penson of Shannon, MS; Elder Kenneth (Liz) Cameron of Des Moines, IA; Larry Joe Mathis of Baldwyn, MS; his sisters: Jewelene Sanders of New Albany, MS; Mildred (Willie) Price of New Albany, MS; his brothers: Archie (Lexie) Penson, Hazel (Loyce) Penson, CG Penson and Glen Penson all of New Albany, MS; his God-daughter: Tiara Milsap; his grandchildren: Nicole Baker, Sha Baker, Shakina Penson, Bylia Jones, Ayana Thomas, Nyambi Penson, Trinity Cameron, Malia Cameron, Eden Cameron, Celebrity Howard, Sedrick Penson, Nate Cameron, Devonate Penson, Kwamane Berry, Shaun Cameron. 33 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ollie Penson and Louise Sanders Penson; three brothers: John Allen Wilson, Clyde Penson and Paul Wayne Penson; one sister: Maxine Parks; two grandchildren: Sondra Penson and Jemarcus Penson.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11a.m., at New Birth Community Church in New Albany. Burial will take place at McKay Cemetery in Hickory Flat, MS. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 4-6p.m., at Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany.
