Edgar Lee McKinney

Mr. Edgar Lee McKinney was born on November 17, 1955 in Holly Springs, MS to the late Jim McKinney and Bessie McKinney. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of Kimbrough Chapel M.B. Church in Hudsonville, MS.

Edgar Lee attended Sand Flat High School in Mount Pleasant, MS. He was self-employed. Edgar Lee loved working with his hands. He did construction, plumbing, and working on cars. He was a Jack of all Trades. He could work on most anything. Edgar Lee loved his children, grandchildren and great grands. He touched the lives of many up until the Lord called him home on October 2, 2021, at Springfield Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

In 1975, Edgar Lee was united in holy matrimony to Stephanie Malone McKinney, to this union four daughters were born. Later in life, he was united in holy matrimony to Audrey Gunning McKinney who preceded him in death, to this union two daughters were born.

He leaves to cherish his memories seven daughters: Shelita (Deadrick) Smith of New Albany, MS, Sherlonda (Erroll) Tables of Decatur, IL, Shaquita (Charles) Tables, Jr. of New Albany, MS, Sabrekia (Shecoby) Robinson of Holly Springs, MS, Chelsey (Gary) Gamble, Ashley Gunning and Tylea McKinney all of Champaign, IL, one step-daughter, Sharonie Malone of Holly Springs, MS, one son, Albert McKinney of Champaign, IL, five sisters, Irene Mayfield, Ethel Raimey, Deloise White, Ida (Ricky) Payne and Lisa McKinney all of Holly Springs, MS, one brother Michael (Lora) Perkins of Holly Springs, MS, a very special friend and fiance, Teressa Johnson of Champaign, IL, nineteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Edgar Lee was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Maliyah Elliott and Davian McKinney, Sr., four siblings, James McKinney, Robert McKinney, Deborah McKinney and Elizabeth Perkins.
