Edgar Joyner, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Edgar “Barney” Joyner, Jr. was born October 24, 1938 in Memphis, TN.  He transitioned September 16, 2020 at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.

He was a Farmer and a Veteran  of the National Guard.

He is survived by two sons: Billy Joyner of Lamar, MS and Timothy Joyner (Lisa) of Somerville, TN, two daughters: Violet Haulum (Paul) of Memphis, TN and Shantell Lacey, three brothers: Jack Joyner, Andrew Joyner  and Donald Joyner, five sisters: Frances Harris, Mary Duke, Barbara Fowler, Patricia Hurdle, and Carolyn Edwards, twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,  other relatives, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents: Edgar Joyner, Sr., and Lena Morse, three brothers.

Service will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2p.m., with visitation from 1p.m., until 1:50p.m. at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs. Burial will follow at Slayden Cemetery in Lamar, MS. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
