Derrick DeAngelo Cook, age 42, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, July 25, 2022. He was born on June 13, 1980, in Oxford, MS, to Loretta Cook and Curtis Dunmore, Jr. At an early age, Derrick united with and attended North Hopewell M. B. Church. He later associated with Broken Lives Ministry.
Derrick received his formal education in the Lafayette County School System. Derrick loved spending time with his family. He had a quiet demeanor, that is, until he got to know you. He had a calm spirit that would light up once he entered the room. He also had a smooth sense of humor and a contagious smile. Derrick was proud of his life accomplishments and enjoyed seeking more about God and the Bible. He also loved making music and tweeting. Derrick is loved and missed by many.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his father: Curtis Dunmore, Jr.; siblings: Ronnie (Stephanie) Johnson; Curtis Lane; Erica Dunmore Rankin; Frances Dawson; Rodney (Keia) Cook; Jeremy (Candies) Cook; LaKeshia Cook; Grandmother: Audrey Cook; stepsisters: Latanja Williams and Dineka Agnew. He is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, special niece Nevaeh. Cook, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother: Loretta Cook; sister: Shannon Montano; grandparents: Rodell Cook, Curtis Dunmore, Sr., Annie Lane; stepfather: Albert Agnew.
