Dereal McClaskey Gipson

Dereal McClaskey Gipson was born March 28, 1967, to Pearlie Smith Gipson and Henry Gipson, in Lafayette County, MS. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age joining Flint Hill M. B. Church in Etta, Mississippi.

Dereal was full of life and lived it to the fullest. He was a Master welder with 30 years of experience. Dereal loved to bar-b-que and listen to southern soul music. He also enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family and friends.

On the morning of February 24th He heard the call of the Master, "Come and take your rest from labor," and he quietly answered the call.

Dereal leaves to cherish his life and legacy, his children; Amereya Gipson, of Louisville, KY (3) Sons Dereal Gipson Jr, of Milwaukee Wisconsin, DaVon Gipson of Water Valley MS, and Issiah Gipson of Louisville, his father, Henry Gipson of Abbeville, MS  grandchildren, Deavon Gipson, Damya Mitchell, Isaiah Speirs, Morgan Turner, Jayleen, sisters; Bonnie (Keith) Holland of Etta, MS, Angel Marqette, of Corinth MS, special honorary daughter; De'Andra Mathis, and bonus grandson; Adam Young, Jr. "AJ",  special companion; Theresa Mathis, special aunt Shirley (Hersie) Pegues of Abbeville, MS, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearlie Smith Gipson, maternal and paternal grandparents and nephew; LeChristopher Gipson.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 28th, 2026 at 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 722 Coulter Drive New Albany, MS 38652.
