Deacon Paul Edward Pitts

Deacon Paul Edward Pitts, 91, transitioned on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Alliance Healthcare in Holly Springs. 

Paul Edward Pitts was born on March 15, 1929 to Goldman and Mable Pitts.  He attended Buffman School and Oak Hill School in Mississippi.  At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Springhill MB Church in Waterford, MS, where he was a dedicated member and served as a deacon.

Paul Edward Pitts made his transition on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Alliance Healthcare in Holly Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Rosie Lee Pitts, and his son James Russell Pitts, Brothers: Columbus, Robert, Herman, Russell, and McNeil Pitts; Sisters: Maggie Rice, Joyce Pitts, and Golia Richmond.  

Paul was a hardworking man.  He worked for the railroad for over 30 years and served as a track inspector.  He raised livestock and farmed over 300 acres of land growing cotton, soybeans, corn, and other vegetables. He would sell and give his produce to the community.

His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children Will Pitts, Dorothy Palmer (Ernest), Edna Pitts, Hattie Mae Johnson (Luscious), Edward Earl Pitts, Evelean Pitts, Thelma Pitts, Larry Pitts, Mable Davis (Curtis), Clifton Pitts (Dorothy), Robert Earl Pitt, Kenneth Pitts, Calvin Pitts (Carol), Regina Pitts, Madelity Jamison (Alfonso); brothers:  Henry Pitts, sisters:  Alice, Johnnie, Hattie B., Joe Ann, and Jeanette and a host of cousin, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Paul Edward Pitts was able to spend his last days at his home in Waterford, MS, which was his heart’s desire. He will be remembered

for his strong faith in God, his smile, his strong handshake, and all the lives that he has touched.  As he would always say, we must remember to “Love Everybody" and “Keep On Moving”.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 1p.m., at Spring Hill Main Baptist Church Cemetery in Waterford, MS. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 10a.m., until 12 Noon at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs.
