Deacon Curvy Louis “C.L.” Howell

Deacon Curvy Louis Howell, 79, transitioned on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his residence in Myrtle, MS. 

Curvy Louis "CL" Howell was born the seventh child of Fannie Roberta Garner Howell and Curvy Howell July 12, 1941 in Lafayette County, Mississippi.

He was educated in the Union County school system and attended B.F. Ford School.

He was employed at Futorian for twenty-five years and Tupelo Manufacturing for nine years.

On July 26, 1969, he was united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Patsy Berry Howell. They were married for fifty-one years.

He was a faithful member, Deacon, and Treasurer of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Hickory Flat, MS. He served his community and church family until his health failed. Curvy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife; Patsy Howell of Myrtle, MS, four daughters; Gevetia (Ronald) Saunders of Beaconville, NC, Carolyn Berry, Carrie (Chris) Wilson of New Albany, MS and Demetria Howell of Myrtle, MS, two sons; Curvy Howell, Jr. of Blue Springs, MS and Chris Howell of Myrtle, MS, three sisters; Dovie Marion, Katie Howell and Elnora Howell of New Albany, MS, three sisters-in-law; ThreethHowell of Myrtle, MS, Elizabeth Howell and Maria Howell of Rockford, IL,  one brother-in-law; Lou Lennell Morris of Ecru, MS. fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Curvy and Roberta, brothers; George, 

Roy, Willie, Jessie and Lonzo, sisters: Maggie and Mackie.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 12 Noon at Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany. Burial will take place at Gerizum Cemetery in Myrtle, MS. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 10a.m., until time of the service at the funeral home.
