David Malone ("Dat") Kimbrough III

David Kimbrough lll, was born January 3, 1965 to the late Magnolia Malone Dowdy and the late David Jr. Kimbrough in Holly Springs, MS.

David was a Cotton Patch Soul Blues Musician.  He started playing blues at the age of six following his fathers (David Jr. Kimbrough) footsteps. He also played along with his brothers (Robert and Kinney Kimbrough) known as the Kimbrough Brother’s, and many other bands. He recorded several albums, and traveled to many places around the world. On Thursday July 4, 2019 God whispered to David (servant well done,  you can come home.)

He leaves to cherish his memory: 6 daughters, Tahlish (Nicholas) Clark from Memphis, TN, Jelissa Smith (Holly Springs, MS) LaTasha Burnside (Coldwaster, MS) LaMiracleBurnside (Potts Camp, MS) Carlisha Martin (Chulahoma, MS) Autum Adams (Potts Camp, MS) 3 sons, Elias Tables (New Albany, MS) Frederick Martin (Corinth, MS) and David Kimbrough IV (Juneau, Alaska) 4 sisters, Earlean Martin (Potts Camp, MS) Stephanie Taylor (Holly Springs, MS) Patricia Kimbrough Hawthorn (Memphis, TN) Andrena Stinson (Hickory Flat, MS) 8 brothers, James (Tamekia) Malone (Hickory Flat, MS) Anthony Malone (Holly Springs, MS) Conniel Malone (Houston, TX) Kinney Kimbrough (Holly Springs, MS) Rev Larry (Celestine) Kimbrough (Dallas, TX) Robert Kimbrough Sr. (Ashland, MS) Gary Cambell Bryson (San Diego) Larry Washington (Holly Springs, MS) 2 Aunts: Mary Lee Lawrence, Mae Ella Lawrence both of (Holly Springs, MS) 3 Uncles, Oscar Lee Holloway, Darnell (Evon) Holloway, Johnny Rickey (Lavon) Holloway, 11 grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, his Stepfather John Lee Dowdy.

He also leaves behind a very special God Mother Annie Moffit, a few special sisters, Sharon Malone, April Holloway, Shirley Richmond, Paula Wilson, and Jearlean Hudson. A special niece, Philisca Tucker. His God Daughter, Janilla Raimey, a special brother David Gray Sr. (Aurora, IL), and plenty of friends ( that he calls FAMILY)

He was preceded in death by his sister, Effie Mae Kimbrough Gray.
