Mr. Clyde Johnson, 79, of Aurora, IL, transitioned on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Accent Care Hospice, in Naperville, IL
“Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself that where I am, there you may be also.”

Clyde Wilson Johnson was born August 7, 1945 in Blue Mountain, MS. He departed this life September 27, 2024 in Aurora, IL. He was united in marriage to Gloria Jean Crockett on December 28, 1973.
He was a member of Main Baptist Church in Aurora, IL. He served with the Ushers Ministry for over 20 years standing in service to Pastor Dezo McGill and Pastor Julian Spencer and the members of Main Baptist Church.
Clyde was employed at Caterpillar Tractor company for 34 years as a Robotic Tech. After retirement, he enjoyed his Blue Vette and the activities of the Aurora Vette Club.
He is survived by his son; Cedrick Wilson Johnson, three sisters; Lottie Ann Johnson, Shirley Johnson both of New Albany, MS and Bettie Spight, nephews; Devin Windom, Line Thomas, Charles Johnson along with nephews and caregivers; Keith Nash and Blayre Nash, who assisted Cedrick in taking care of Clyde. Nieces; Lashaunda Backus, Kimberly Backus, and Zendrea Johnson, special long time friends; Glynis Foster, Helen Paudling and Elsworth Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; Hollis Oakland, Sr. and Ora Mae Johnson, his wife of 42 years; Gloria Jean Crockett-
Johnson, his sister; Laura Mae Johnson, brothers; Hollis O. Johnson Jr., and Tommy Johnson.
Graveside Services will be on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Adkins Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 7321 County Road 700, Blue Mountain, MS 38610.
