Cleo LaMatthew Jones, 32, transitioned on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his residence in Lamar, MS
Cleo LaMatthew Jones was born on October 23, 1991, to Cleo Jones and Debra Finnie Jones in New Albany, MS. On Saturday, June 29, 2024, he transitioned at her residence in Lamar, MS.
Cleo accepted Christ at an early age at Hudsonville C.M.E. Church in Holly Springs, MS. He loved to fix on things, walk, and would help anyone that he could. He would never meet a stranger and not make them laugh. He was a very fun, loving, caring person, who loved to walk. He departed this life doing what he loved to do the most on June 29, 2024, which is walking. He walked out of our life into God’s arms.
Cleo leaves to cherish his loving memories his parents: Cleo Jones and Debra Jones of Lamar, MS; two brothers: Marcus Finnie (Ashley) of Olive Branch, MS and Tre’von Jones, Sr. (Dominique) of Holly Springs, MS; one niece: Amirah Finnie of Olive Branch, MS; two nephews: Xavier Finnie of Olive Branch, MS and Tre’von Jones, Jr. of Holly Springs, MS; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends; bonus grandmother: Barbara Atkins of Memphis, TN; two god-sisters: Shdel Whiting of Houston, TX and Tameca Dubose (Derrick) of Memphis, TN; and a very very special friend: Saidha Thomas of Memphis, TN.
Cleo was preceded in death by his loving grandparents: Robert L. Jones, Sr., Lillie B. Jones, Norman Finnie, and Jeanette Dowdy Finnie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635
Services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Cornerstone Church of God in Christ, 1350 Highway 196 S, Piperton, TN 38017
Burial will take place at Hill Crest Cemetery, 199 S. Market St., Holly Springs, MS 38635
