Clarence Ivan Smith, 50, transitioned on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Ascension St. Thomas Mid-Town, Nashville, TN.
August 12, 1972, in New Albany, Mississippi Eugene Franklin Smith and Lorene Waldrop Smith welcomed, Clarence Ivan Smith.
Ivan had the ability to brighten a room with his great sense of humor and unforgettable smile. He was great with his hands and when he wasn't drawing, he was cooking for those he loved. Ivan was great with children and never failed to make his love known to everyone he came in contact with. Ivan was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and good friend to many. Ivan was truly one of a kind and his legacy will forever be cherished.
He graduated from Myrtle High School. After graduation, Ivan served his country eight years in the United States Army Unit Supply Specialist and Armour.
He was the husband of Brittany Smith.
On Friday, September 16, 2022 at 10:55 a.m., a son, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend transitioned this life from labor to rest at Ascension St. Thomas Hospital Midtown in Nashville, TN.
Those who loved him include his children: Iveyana K. Smith of Ripley, MS, Ava Smith and Ivan O'Neal of New Albany, MS, his mother: Lorene Smith of New Albany, MS, his eldest siblings: Micah Washington-Smith (Sharar) of Long Beach, CA and Corey E. Smith (Marie) of Tupelo, MS, a host of nieces and nephews and a host of cousins, friends and family member of New Albany, MS, Nashville, TN and Milwaukee, WI.
Clarence was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Neal Waldrop and father: Eugene Franklin Smith.
Viewing will be Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 12:00 Noon, and Service will be at 2:00 p.m., at Shady Grove M.B. Church, 1341 County Road 73, Myrtle, MS
Burial will take place at Palestine M.B. Church, 690 County Road 830, Blue Mountain, MS.
