Cicely LiAnn “Tuta” Evans was born March 2,1981, to the late Wiley Carroll and Mother Gladys Carroll in Tupelo, MS.
She peacefully returned to her heavenly home on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, MS.
She attended and graduated from Ripley High School. She had many jobs, but the one she loved the most was being the manager at Ashland Elementary Cafeteria,for 20 plus years. Later She found the true love and passion at Evans Eat and Play, located in Walnut, MS.
Cicely enjoyed being around family; cherishing the memories and most of all laughter it brings-Her Vibrance and sense of humor filled every room. She was warm and affectionate with an endless capacity to do for others.
She accepted Christ to be the head of her life under the late Superintendent Bernell Hoyle at St. James C.O.G.I.C., which is now under the leadership ofSuperintendent Robert D. Fleming, Sr. She served as the Sunday School Treasury Duration Checker for many years.
Cicely was a devoted wife and mother, above all to her family: Married to Orlando Evans on May 14, 2005; one and only daughter: Hope LiAnn Evans; god-children: Latevion Scruggs and Kayden Walker; her mother: Gladys Carroll of Ripley, MS; her siblings: Sylvia (Clyde) Pate of Blue Mountain, MS, GladysMichell Weathersby of Milwaukee, WI; Wiley ZacharyCarroll, Kevin Carroll, Keith Carroll, Doug Carroll all of Ripley, MS; mother-in-law: Barbra Evans; sisters in law: Verlinda and Merlinda Evans all of Ashland, MS; brother-in-law: Leon Evans, Jr. of Georgia, and a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
She was proceeded in death by her father: Wiley Carroll; brother: Eddie Carroll; father-in-law: Leon Evans, Sr.: maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held 5:00PM to 7:00PM, Friday, April 10, 2026, at St. James Temple COGIC in Ripley, MS.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. James Temple COGIC, 719 Ashland Road, Ripley, MS 38663.
Burial will be held at Saints Rest Cemetery in Ripley, MS.
