Chester Anderson

Chester Anderson, 78, transitioned on Monday, May 27, 2024, at The Mississippi State Veterans Home, Oxford, MS

He was born to Thomas Nesbit and Lillian Anderson in Union County, MS, on May 18, 1946. Chester was a graduate of B.F. Ford High School class of 1965. He was an electrician/carpenter by trade. Chester was an Air Force veteran with 20 years of service. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal. He was a member of Oak Grove MB Church where he served as Financial Secretary and Masonic Lodge #171 . He enjoyed watching old movies and reading books.

He is survived by his siblings, Carlena (Eddie), Lenora (Tracy), Al- ice, Robert (Lora), Henry (Alberta), Charles (Linnie), Thomas (Rita), Bobby (Cathy), Linder, Angelene (Will), Joyce, Sharon (Litdell), Dennis, Laverne, Carla, Glenda (Michael) and Vincent (Melissa).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home, 722 Coulter Drive, New Albany, MS  38652.

Services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Oak Grove M.B. Church, 1356 County Road 121, New Albany, MS  38652

Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, New Albany, MS
