Charlie Henry Gambrel, 86, affectionately known as "Junior" was born February 26, 1939 to Savannah Eckford Gambrel and Byrd Graham in Tippah County, MS. He transitioned from this life on Monday September 29, 2025. He was cherished by his family and friends. Junior loved collecting, buying and selling cars,
He was married to Eva Mae Gambrel and the father of 10 children. Sons; Henry E. Graham and Anthony Graham, seven daughters; Patricia Spight, Anita (Terry) Elliott, Sharon Pegues, Regina Thornton, Rebecca (Joe) Carroll, Denise Jackson and Katonia Graham. three brothers; Milton (Sylvia) Graham, Melvin (Vickie) Graham and Manning (Fay) Graham, 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and son-in-love, Alton Spight
He was preceded in death by his mother; Savannan Eckford Gambrel and step-father, Charlie Gambrel and biological father Byrd Graham, brothers; Henry Lewis Graham, Joe B. Graham, Hansel Jeff Graham and George Gambrel, sisters; Annie Simmons, Ruth G. Wilson and Angela G. Bell, one daughter; Debra G. Spight,
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home, 722 Coulter Drive, New Albany, MS 38652.
Services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Palestine M.B. Church, 690 County Road 830, Blue Mountain, MS 38610.
Body will lie in state one hour before service time.
Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
