Charles Estes Skelton, 81, transitioned on Friday, September 15, 2023, at his residence in Holly Springs, MS.
Mr. Charles Estes Skelton was born in Marshall County, MS, on August 5, 1942, to the late John Skelton and Clarice Allen Skelton. He was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church, in Lamar, MS. He graduated from Holly Springs High School. He was a Deputy Jailer for Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and he also served as a Bailiff in Marshall County, MS.
He loved spending time with his family and friends; especially his grandchildren and dog “Goldie.” He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and gardening.
He transitioned from this life on Friday September 15, 2023 at his residence.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of thirty seven years: Rose Skelton of Holly Springs, MS; four sons: Steve Skelton (Chris) of Corinth, MS, Michael Skelton (Kerri) of Lake Center, MS, Wayne Allen (Corrine) of Byhalia, MS, and Mark Feathers of Lamar, MS; brother in law Emmett Jarrett of Holly Springs, MS; nineteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John Skelton and Clarice Allen Skelton; one daughter: Stacey (Allen) Feathers; one brother: Sidney “Bosie” Skelton; two sisters: Sadie Jarrett, and Donnie Dawson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2023, from12:00 to 2:00 p.m., and Service will be at 2:00 p.m., at Clear Creek Baptist Church, 1704 Clear Creek Road, Lamar, MS 38642
Burial will follow at Skelton Cemetery, Clear Creek Rd., Lamar, MS 38642
