Mrs. Catherine Edwards Knox

Mrs. Catherine Edwards Knox, 90, transitioned on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Baptist Memorial  Hospital, New Albany, MS.

Catherine Knox was born November 24,1934 to Leroy and Madgie Edwards.  She was one of 13 children. She departed this life April 25th, 2025 at Baptist Memorial - New Albany, MS.

She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Holy Temple Church of God for many years. She was united in matrimony to Mose Knox. Together they raised 3 children. Through the years there were cookouts, Easter egg hunts, and just family gatherings.  Family & friends will miss the cooking and the visits. Sunday’s won’t be the same. She made sure everyone had something to eat even if you weren’t able to come. After her retirement from Piper, Hazel always had a traveling partner. All it took was a “Sister, you want to ride?” The sisters would get together and enjoy each other’s company. 

To cherish her memory, she leaves her husband of 60 years, Mose Knox; 2 daughters: Sharon (Vincent) Price, and Candace (Derrick) Brock of Tupelo, MS; and 1 son: Ron Knox of New Albany, MS. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Shoshana Pratt, Brittany Brock, and Adrian Brock. Great grandchildren: Amari, Christopher, and Amaya. To mourn her passing, she leaves 4 sisters: Carolyn (Johnny) Latham and Dorothy Graham both of Columbus, MS; Janie Lowe, and Hazel (Wade) Ivy both of New Albany, MS. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; Leroy and Madgie Edwards, several siblings: Earl, Leo, Hugh and Ovell Edwards, Flossie Joy and Patricia Freeman and two infant children.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Phil 4:8.

Body will lie in state one hour before service. 

Services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025,, at 12:00 Noon, at Holy Tempe Church of God, at 1107 Moss Hill Drive, New Albany, MS  38652.

Burial will take place at Gerizum Cemetery, Myrtle, MS.
