Bonnie Mae Sims

Bonnie Mae Bland Sims was born on May 21, 1953 in Water Valley, Mississippi to the union of Sylvia and Willie Bland. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, July 25th 2023.

Bonnie accepted Christ at an age and united with Everdale Missionary Baptist Church. She received her formal education in the Yalobusha County School District, graduating from Water Valley High School Class of 1971.

Bonnie was united in Holy Matrimony to Bobby Sims, Sr. on July 1,1972 they have enjoyed 51 years of marriage. To this union two sons were born Gerric M. Sims and Bobby Sims Jr.

Bonnie was employed as a Child Care Provider for Special Needs Kids at Ft Campbell, Kentucky. Hunter Army Airfield. In Savannah Ga. Ft. Hood, Texas. She enjoyed home decorating, gardening, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia and Willie Bland, brothers, Willte Torrance, David Bland, and William Bland.

She leaves behind a loving husband, Bobby Sims, Sr. sons, Gerric (Tiffany) Sims, Bobby Sims Jr., grandson, Marcel Sims, sister, Catherine (Ed) Wright, brother, Benjamin Bland, nephews and nieces, Bobby Tyrone (Monica) Campbell, Catherine N, Campbell, William Anthony (Stephanie) Campbell, Dari Lynn Bland, Lyntonio Bland, Antonio Bland, Lina Bland, Brandon Torrance, Jaleesa Torrance, L. Bland, Exavier Bland, Brandon Torran brothers-in-law, 2 sisiters-in-law, a host of friends, and the Class of '71 Water Valley High School.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 206 Martin Street, Water Valley, MS  38965

Services will be held at Bayson Chapel M.B. Church, 1272 County Road 431, Water Valley, MS  38965..

Burial will take place at East Pine Grove  M.B. Church Cemetery, 113 County Road 374, Water Valley, MS  38965.

Arrangements entrusted to  Hooker Funeral Home of Clarksville, TN and Serenity Funeral Home of Water Valley, MS.
