Bobbie Jim "BigDaddy" Baldon, 86, of New Albany, MS, transitioned on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.
Brother Bobbie Jim Baldon, 86, transitioned from this earthly home to his heavenly home on October 5, 2025, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS, with his daughter Sandra by his side. Bobbie was born on September 29, 1939, in Tippah County to Cartee and Eula Baldon. He received his education at the Union County Training School (BF Ford). Afterwards, he moved to Niagara Falls, New York for a short time. He was employed by Futorian and Piper Impact for many years. He was also employed at the Union County Lumber Company until his health began to fail.
Bobbie was united in Holy Matrimony to Betty Ford Baldon. They were married for 66 loving years. To their union, four children were born. Throughout the years they raised Margaret, Cordaro, Dayvon, Christina, Jimmy, Jamie, and Marcus, as their own. He had a zest for life. He loved his family and friends and was always there to support and encourage them all. He loved gospel singing as he was a member of The Harmony Echoes and the Manager for The Harmonettes for many years. He had a strong relationship with his heavenly father and professed his hope in Christ at an early age. Growing up he attended Union Prospect M.B. Church. He later moved his membership to Wilson Chapel Holiness Church of the Living God, then to First Evangelistical Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of The New Birth Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Jonathan Tucker. Brother Bobbie was loved and respected by everyone he came in contact with.
He leaves to cherish and celebrate his life, his loving wife Betty, his children, Della (Rev. Donnell) Nichols, Dewey (Virginia) Baldon, Sandra (Jerry) Davis, Cordaro (Tanesha) Newsome, Margaret (Bobby) Baker, Dayvon Russell of Council Bluff, Iowa. 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers Billy and Benny Baldon of New Albany, MS. 3 sisters-in-law; Teresia Robbins of Racine, WI, Lessie Bell McKinzie of New Albany, MS, and Bernice Baldon of Niagara Falls, NY, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
