Billy Hue Sharp was born August 11, 1935, in Byhalia, MS, to the late beloved R.C. Sharp and Adella Hopkins-Neely. He departed this life on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, MS. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at Eason Grove MB Church.
He graduated from Rosenwald school in Byhalia, MS. Billy spent the better part of 30 years as a Maintenance Engineer at GEM Incorporated in Byhalia, where he not only worked but also went above and beyond what was expected and rarely, if ever, missed a day.
Billy was blessed with a loving family and wife. He was a committed father and husband who helped raise his children with patience, humor, and humility. He also served as a father and mentor, touching the lives of many and sharing his wisdom and life lessons with his family and others within the community.
Billy was an early riser and was the epitome of a hard worker. He was skilled in welding and repair. He loved family time and the great outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, lawn care, fishing, and hunting. In addition to his passion for the outdoors, he found great joy in playing checkers with anyone willing to take on a challenge. In his leisure time, he could often be found watching wrestling, westerns, or sports, or sitting under the oak tree listening to the sounds of nature. In his youth, Billy was known for his athleticism on the baseball field.
