Mrs. Betty Jo Brown, 83, of Holly Springs, MS, transitioned on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at her residence.

Betty Jo Brown of Holly Springs, Mississippi, transitioned on February 16, 2025, at her residence. She was born on August 26, 1941, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, to the late Johnnie Wesley Brown, Sr. and Lela Brown.

Betty graduated from Carver High School (Pascagoula, MS) in 1962. She attended and graduated from Coahoma Community College and Alcorn State University, with a degree in Elementary Education. Betty was a retired educator from the Benton County School District. She was a former member of Eastern Star and Heroines of Jericho.

Betty was an avid reader, with her favorite book being the Bible. She also loved reading newspapers. Most people always spoke of her being one of the most loving persons you could ever meet. We will miss Betty, dearly!

She is survived by her loving and caring husband, Charlie R. Brown; one sister, Diane Jackson; special family member Samuel Mayes; special friend, Steve Bostic; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her siblings: Johnny Wesley Brown, Jr., Houston Brown, Eugene Brown, Earnestine Brown Williams, Frances Middleton, Linda Anderson, and Shelia Brown.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Cemetery, 380 South Maury Street, Holly Springs, MS  38635
