Barbara Young Obituary
Ms. Barbara Ann Young, 58, transitioned on Monday, September 13, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Barbara Young was born on November 25, 1962 in Moscow, TN to the late Roosevelt Young, Sr. and Harriet Waller (Young). She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Concord M.B. Church.
Barbara attended Sandflat High School. She worked for many years therafter as a nurse’s aide in the healthcare field serving the medical needs of the elderly and disabled. Barbara was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved spending time with family, especially her daughter and grandson whom she loved deeply. Barbara was full of life and laughter-she loved to sing!! She was a giving person and always cared for
the needs of others. She would always volunteer her own time, money and food for the needs of others.
Barbara left this life suddenly on September 13, 2021. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, one daugther: Priscilla Young; one grandson, Josiah Young; three brothers: Theodore Young (Geraldine) of Byhalia, MS, John F. Young of Memphis, TN. and Stanley Young of Lilburn, GA; five sisters: Ruby M. Young, Rosie M. Young, Evelyn Stigger-Rosser (James), Sarah A. Kimbrough (Roger) all of Memphis, TN and Gloria J. Young of Holly Springs, MS, one uncle, Charles Waller and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her infant son, Borino Young,
her parents: Roosevelt and Harriet Young, three brothers; Alonzo Young, Roosevelt Young, Jr.and Chester L. Young.
Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 1p.m., at Concord M.B. Church Cemetery in Lamar, MS. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 4-6p.m., at the funeral home chapel.
