Barbara Ann (Judon) Carruthers

Mrs. Barbara Ann Judon Carruthers, 78, transitioned on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Union County Health & Rehab in New Albany. 

Barbara Anne Judon Carruthers "Miss Bee," was born on March 15, 1942 in Union County, MS to the late Comer Judon and Viola Rogers Judon. She made her transition February 9, 2021 at Union County Health and Rehab in New Albany, MS.

She professed a hope in Christ in her earlier years and joined Mercy Temple Church Of God In Christ in New Albany under the leadership of Elder C.L. Hoyle. Later on, she became a devoted member of New Birth Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Jonathan Tucker until her heavenly transition. 

In 1969, she married her soulmate, James Clinton Carruthers.

She leaves behind memories to her children, her sons; Terry (Betta) Judon, Patrick "Peterman" Carruthers, her two daughters; Robbie (John) Blackwell and Tracy Barker,  two children she reared as her own; Jennifer Carruthers and Walter Carruthers, sisters; Nancy Fant, Gladys Walton,  two brothers; Clarance (Lena) Judon and Comer "Sonny" Judon, Jr., one uncle; Hulet Judon, sisters-in-law; Josephine Boga, Ellen Elliott (Charles), Paul Ruth Conner, Gloria Cornelius, Maxine Perkins, Diane Anderson, brothers-in-law; James E. Mullins, Leroy Harris, and Edward Anderson,  nine  grandchildren, fifteen  great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two best friends; Mary Cannon and Patsy Berry Howell, the staff of Union County Health & Rehab, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; James Carruthers, parents; Comer and Viola Judon, daughters; Barbara "Jolly" Judon, Mya Louise Judon, sisters; Mary Lou Harris, Lily Mae Judon and her grandparents; Doug and Josie Rogers and Levi and Nancy Judon.

Visitation will be on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 3-5p.m., at Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany. Burial will take place at Gerizum Cemetery in Myrtle, MS. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
