Amos Williams

Amos Williams was born on September 14, 1949 to the late Leroy Williams and Velma Anderson. He passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County.

Amos professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Palestine M.B. Church, Blue Mountain, MS. 

He was employed for over 20 years at Advanced Plastics, Inc. until his retirement. Amos found pleasure in watching TV, sitting on the porch during the summer, gardening, and spending time with his brothers and fishing.

On July 2, 1991, he married the love of his life, Alice Finley Williams.

Amos leaves to cherish his everlasting memories his loving wife of 30 years: Alice Williams of Blue Springs, MS, nine children: Leroy (Stephanie) Waldrop, Jim Williams, Eric Williams and Kendrick (Tykalya) Finley all of New Albany, MS, Michael Williams of Thaxton, MS, Ken  (Qiana) Williams of Memphis, TN, Cortez (Tanika) Steele of Adamsville, TN, Steven Finley of Blue Springs, MS, and his one and only loving daughter: Yashunta S. Finley of Saltillo, MS, his mother: Velma Anderson of New Albany, MS, two brothers: Joe Paul (Ann) Anderson of Ecru, MS and Sam (Channon) Williams of Ripley, MS, four sisters: Inez (Cherelle) German, Rita Anderson and Mary Ezell all of New Albany, MS, Myra (Walter) Shields of Tupelo, MS, 38 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his father, Leroy Williams, he is preceded in death by 3 brothers: L.C. Anderson, James Williams and Willie B. Williams, one sister: Jannie Ray and one aunt: Mary Frances Evans.
