OLIVE BRANCH- Rev. Clara Moore Carruthers Love, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Sardis Community Nursing Home in Sardis, MS. Reverend Clara Moore Carruthers was born January 17, 1926, in Rossville, TN to Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Moore. She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age at Stinson Chapel  C.M.E.  Church in Rossville, TN. She departed this life on March 15, 2018. She led a stellar life of Christian servitude and benevolence. Accepting her calling to the ministry, she pastored numerous churches throughout the Methodist conferences. Some of these included: Johnson's Chapel C.M.E Church and Friar's Point C.M.E. Church. To each she gave her talents and skills to promote the word of God, causing many souls to be saved and giving many the courage to follow Christ. She was the wife of the late Marvin Love. Reverend Moore Carruthers Love was also an inspiration in her professional life. She prepared herself extensively and became the first African-American teacher at the Institute of Community Services (ICS) of Hudsonville/Slayden, MS. Through this venue she was able to impact the lives of young children and build a foundation for their future education. Her affiliations included being an Eastern Star and an usher at her home church of Stinson Chapel. She believed in representing herself and God well in her daily living. As a result, she was always superbly dressed and radiated the confidence that comes from knowing the Lord. Throughout all her life she was one who encouraged and inspired others to have faith in themselves and to rely on God for His eternal grace and mercy.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 12 Noon at New Stinson Community Church in Rossville, TN with Bishop Earnest Joy delivering the eulogy. Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
