RIPLEY- Mrs. Vannie Mae "Biggon" Johnson, 80, passed away on Sunday morning, April 22, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on July 15, 1937 in Tippah County to the late Waymond Carruth and Aline Guyton. She loved spending time with her family. She was a faithful member at St. John M.B. Church in Ripley until her health begin to fail her.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1p.m. at St. John M.B. Church in Ripley, MS with Pastor Billy Geanes-Pastor. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband: James D. McKenzie of the home. Two sons: Joe L. Carruth of Ripley, MS and Stacy L. Johnson of Ripley, MS. One brother: Sammie Lee (Juanita) Carruth of Grand Rapids, MI. Three sisters: Josephine Story and Loretta (Jr) Rogan both of Ripley, MS and Christine Barnett of Jackson, TN. Two grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter: Barbara Jean Smith.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 4-7p.m. at Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany.
