Mr. Marvin Barr

PONTOTOC- Mr. Marvin Barr was born to Alford and Chrisloa Fitzpatrick Barr on September 1, 1931. He departed this life Monday, August 13, 2018 at North MS Medical Center Pontotoc Nursing Home.

He professed a belief in Christ at an early age and joined Usher Valley United Methodist Church where he  remained until death. Marvin was a factory worker.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 50 years: Willie Mae Green Barr, three sisters: Grace Thomas, Sadie M. Branch and Alma Jones all of Chicago, IL, his twin brother: Harvin Barr of Algoma, MS, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: FlarzellBall and Paulette Barr, one brother: James L. Barr, one sister-in-law: Emaline Barr, brothers-in-law: John Thomas, George Branch, Watson Ball and Melvin Floyd.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 1p.m. at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Algoma, MS. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 4-7p.m. at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc.
