Mr. Leone Richard Lewis

NEW ALBANY- Mr. Leone Richard Lewis, 53, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Regional One Medical Center (The Med) in Memphis. 

Leone Richard Lewis was born July 29, 1964 in Milwaukee, WI to Edward France and Bertha Rose Lewis. Leone was educated in the Milwaukee public school system where he graduated from Custer High School in 1982. He also attended Milwaukee Area Technical College.

Leone moved to new Albany, MS in the summer of 1993, where he was employed at Pipers Impact for a long period of time and later found employment at Diversity Vuteq, LLC.

Leone attended Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the Green Bay Packers, watching movies and sports.

On February 19, 1990, Leon's first child was born, Alisha Michelle Anderson. A few years later, Leone met the love of his life, Diane Denise Walker in 1993. They were joined in holy matrimony March 14, 2006. To this union Olajuwon Quincy Lewis was born August 4, 2008. Olajuwon was the joy of his life. Everywhere he went, his son was right by his side. Ironically Leone died protecting his son and wife.

Leone leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Diane Lewis of New Albany, MS, daughter: Alisha Anderson (Brandon) of Milwaukee, WI, son: Olajuwon Lewis of New Albany, MS, his mother: Bertha Williamson, grandmother: Leona Anderson and sister: Leona Lewis  all of Milwaukee, WI, nephews: Rashad(Colonia) Roberts, Isiah Roberts of Fort Worth, TX, his mother-in -law? many other relatives and friends.

Leone is preceded in death by great-grandmother: Stella McFowler and John Reed?, great-grandfather: Booker T. Lewis, and step-father: Quincy Williamson.

Services will be on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 1p.m. at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church on 1010 County Road 91 in New Albany. Burial will take place at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in New Albany. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 11a.m.-12:45p.m. at the church.
