CORDOVA, TN- Mr. Kendrick Lynn Crawford, 44, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. Frances Hospital in Bratlett, TN. He was born on May 4, 1974 in New Albany to Archie and Jennelle Crawford. Lynn accepted Christ at an early age at Pine Bluff M.B. Church in Myrtle, MS. He served as a junior usher, choir member, and part of a gospel quartet. He later joined Greater New Hope M.B. Church in Myrtle, where he served as a choir member and Assistant Sunday School Superintendent. Lynn had a natural love for music and was a very gifted player of the trombone. He joined the school band in the 6th grade and continued to hone his craft through college. Over time he became well-known for his musical talents and was selected for the prestigious Mississippi Lions Band, where he performed in Sydney, Australia. He was a section leader for the W.P. Daniel High School Band and also held the esteemed 1st Chair Trombone position from 6th grade through his sophomore year in college. He was also selected as an escort on the W.P. Daniel Homecoming Court and was listed as Who's Who Among American High School Students.

Upon graduation from W.P. Daniel High School, Lynn was awarded a full-music scholarship to The University of Memphis. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1998. Lynn (also known as Kendrick) was an educator with Memphis City Schools for over 20 years. The majority of his career he taught 2nd grade and 4th grade students at Getwell Elementary. He truly loved shaping the future leaders of the world while also providing a positive male role model for students.

Services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11a.m. at New Birth Community Church in New Albany. Burial will take place at New Beginning Cemetery in Myrtle, MS. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his parents: Archie and Jeannelle Crawford. One daughter: Bria Crawford and one granddaughter: Tiari Crawford. Two brothers: James (Marilyn) Garner of Cordova, TN and James Hill of Kilmichael, MS. One sister: Tamara Crawford of Arlington, TX. Two nephews: Terrandon Garner of Akron, OH and La Quintin Garner of New Albany, MS. One niece: Jaleesa Garner of Meridian, MS. One great-niece and one great-nephew. A host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who will greatly miss him.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 3-7p.m. at Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany.
