Mr. James Robert Gaston

WATER VALLEY- Mr. James Robert Gaston, 75, was born to the late Claude and ZereldaGaston on April 29, 1943 in Water Valley, Mississippi. He was the second child of ten children. James attended school in Water Valley, MS. He began work at an early age working many jobs beside his father.  This formed a strong work ethic. He believed if you was going to do a job then do it right. He was a hard worker and an expert in operating dozers. Until his illness in 1996, he operated and worked on large contracts, building roads and landscapes in areas around Yalobusha County, Mississippi.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 2p.m. at Everdale M.B. Church in Water Valley with Elder Larry Lewis, Sr., delivering the eulogy. Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Water Valley. Serenity-Daniels Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of the arrangements.

On November 17, 2018, James' purpose on Earth was fulfilled. His departure has left a void in the lives of his devoted wife: Annie Eva Gaston, eight children: Bobbie (Marie) Gaston of Riverdale, GA, Jimmy (Debra) Gaston, Aneatha Johnson, Sandra Gaston all of Water Valley, MS, John (Sharon) Gaston of Columbus, GA, Marie Gaston of Water Vklley, MS, Christopher (Kizzy) Gaston of Courtland, MS and Jacqueline  (Tyrone) Pearson of Water Valley, MS,  his mother: Zerelda Gaston of Booneville, MS, three brothers: Charles (Earnestine) Gaston of Detroit, MI, Pastor Leon (Sarah) Gaston of Horn Lake, MS,  and Howard (Stella) Gaston of Boovenille, MS, sisters: Claudia  (Charles) Young and Eva (Larry Lewis) of Lexington, MS, twenty-one grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

James' father Claude Gaston, three brothers, one sister and his son: James Russell Gaston preceded him in death.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 4-6p.m. at Serenity-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel.
