Mr. George Harvey

OXFORD- Mr. George Harvey, 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at his home in Oxford. 

He was born On January 6, 1932 in Memphis, TN to Maurice and Roberta Harvey. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Salem M.B. Church. He attended Oxford Training School.,

George was a veteran of  the United States Air Force where he served in the Airborne Division. He had many occupations.

He is survived by one son: George Harvey Dunn of Memphis, TN, two daughters: Cassandra (Dwight) Johnson of Oxford, MS, Roberta Lynn Harvey of Chicago, IL one brother: HamerHarvey of Oxford, MS one sister: Helen Edwards of Chicago, IL, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one special uncle: Bishop Harvey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special friend: Sherman Buford.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father: Maurice and Roberta Harvey, two sisters and his wife.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 3p.m. at Oxford First United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Oxford City Cemetery. Serenity-Martin Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 5-7p.m. at Serenity-Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
