Mr. Eddie Brown

HOLLY SPRINGS- Mr. Eddie Brown, 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2019 at his home in Holly Springs. The only child of Tessie Lee Dunlap was born on March 14, 1933 in Holly Springs. He was reared in a Christian home by his grandmother Survilla Dunlap, who installed the love of eduaction in him and her nephew Lawrence and Presley Autry. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in the month of April and the year of 1953, just one month before graduating from High School. After serving 2 years as an MP he was Honarbly Discharged. He then returned to Holly Springs and entered Mississippi Industrial College. He was married to Betty Lawrence in 1956, they moved to Chicago for over 40 years. Eddie retired from the Postal Service after 30 years of service. They returned to Holly Springs in 2000, where he continued to operate his business in plumbing and electrical. Everyone knew his love of tools and that he never refused to help others, who needed his expertise. He attended Calvin Chapel C.M.E Church where he was faithful until his health failed in 2018.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 12 Noon at Hernando Road Church of Christ in Holly Springs. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife of 63 years Betty Brown. Uncle Larry (Carlean) Crane. Sister-in-law: Ann Shead. Brother-in-laws: Grover, Jackie, Roy, Stanley (Joyce) Lawrence. Nephews: Alfred (Dawn) Lawrence, Lawrence (Irene) Autry, Billy (Katie) Autry. Nieces: Luller B. Ray and Maggie (Jessie) Harris. A host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son: Edward and his mother.

Body will lie in state one hour prior to service time.
