Mr. Daniel Earl Phillips

PONTOTOC- Mr. Daniel Earl Phillips, 55, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Pontotoc (Automobile Accident). On March 18, 2018 the angels came and carried away the spirit of Daniel Earl Phillips affectionately know as “Dan Tanner”. He was born October 29, 1962 to the late Moses Phillips and Thelma Jones Phillips in Oxford, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Oxford High School, class of 1981. He accepted Christ at a young age and later became a member of New Hope M.B. Church. He was an employee with First Choice Home Health INC. as a CNA.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11a.m. at Tallachatchie-Oxford Missionary Baptist Association Building in Oxford with Pastor Eric Wilson delivering the eulogy. Burial will take place at Philadelphia M.B. Church Cemetery in Oxford. Serenity-Martin Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of the arrangements.

He leaves to cherish his memories of his mother Thelma Phillips of Oxford, MS. His children; DanEisha DyWanna Phillips, ShyDrika My’Angel Phillips, (Taylor, MS) Daniel Earl Phillips Jr., Xavier Reed Phillips (Pontotoc, MS), Melvin Deon Turner (Victoria), Kody Jantzen Turner, and Tevin Antwan Turner (Taylor, MS). Sisters; Lora Lee Williams (Randal), of Oxford, MS; Martha Frierson (Tyrone), of Indianapolis, IN; Brothers; Elton Phillips, L.V. Phillips (Teretha); Howard Phillips (Luvenia) all of Oxford, MS. Eight grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his sons; Nicohlas Oliver and MySpecial Phillips; sister; Debra Parks Phillips and brother Vernon Phillips. 

Visitation will be on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5-7p.m. at Serenity-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford.
