Mother Susie D. Cook

OXFORD- Mother Susie D. Cook, 95, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was born on July 16, 1923 in Oxford, MS to the late Will Key and Lillie Jones. Mother Cook was a faithful member of Philadelphia M.B. Church in Oxford, where she served on the Mother Board, and the Usher Board. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Philadelphia Chapter #287 Maurice F. Lucus, Sr. Mother Cook also worked in the Oxford School District for 24 years.

Services will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 3p.m. at Philadelphia M.B. Church in Oxford, MS with Pastor Alfred L. Hall, ll., delivering the eulogy. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Serenity-Martin Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of the arrangements.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories one son: Charlie Cook of Memphis, TN. Five daughters: Ruby Madkins, Bernice Moering, Ella Goolsby all of Oxford, MS, Elena Miller of Memphis, TN., and Mary Houston of Detroit, MI. One sister: Evelyn Ramsey of Oxford, MS. Eighteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 3-5:30p.m. and family hour from 5:30p.m. until 7p.m. at Serenity-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford.
