LaTrina Gilbert Washington

LaTrina Gilbert Washington was born October 8, 1978 to Clytee Gilbert and Robert Curtis Schooler. 

Trina attended Pontotoc City School and later went to Foster’s Cosmetology School in Ripley, MS. She was a member of New Salem M.B. Church in Pontotoc, MS.

Trina was a go to person; she was always a listening ear to all that needed her.  Trina loved being around family and friends especially her grandson Massiah Banks.  She was a well-known hair nail braider to many. 

LaTrina transition to be with the Lord on July 9, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.

She was preceded in death by her baby brother Courtney Omar Gilbert on July 3, 2019, her grandparents Sam Gilbert, Eddie Gilbert, Luester McGee, J.W. Schooler and Mary E. Schooler.

LaTrina leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother Clytee Gilbert of Pontotoc, MS, father Robert Curtis Schooler of Racine, WI, fiancée James McCary of Tupelo, MS, four sons; Jontae Lusk of Verona, MS, Arthur Washington of Nettleton, MS, Quay McCary of Tupelo, MS, Korda McCary of Fulton, MS, six daughters; Shequila Washington of Tupelo, MS, Yo’Maris Washington of Tupelo, MS, Shayla McAlister of Fulton, MS, Alisia Mitchell of Chicago, IL, Zori Washington of Tupelo, MS, and Ja’Kayiae McCary of Tupelo, MS, two brothers; Robert Wilson Foster of Chicago, IL, Christopher Collins(Latreka) of New Albany, MS, two sisters; Veronica Gilbert of Verona, MS, and Noriko Gilbert Hinton(Eric) of Verona, MS, grandparents Curtis Leon Elzie(Lenora), Mattie Gilbert all of Pontotoc, MS

She had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and her best friend Lynette Polk.
