Josephine Wilson

Mrs. Josephine Wilson was born December 24, 1941 in Lafayette County, Mississippi to the late Joseph and Earlene Townsend. Josephine departed this life August 1, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She worked at Emerson for years and along with Cedar Bucket until she retired.

She confessed her hope in Christ and joined New Salem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Ervin. She married the love of her life, Joe Willie Wilson in 1960. To this union six children were born.

In her spare time she loved to babysit, talk on the phone and going to yard sales.

She was preceded in death by her late husband: Joe Willie Wilson, and a son: Marshal Wilson.

Josephine leaves to cherish her memories five children: Larry Joe Wilson (Ella) and Barry Wilson of Oxford, MS, Joe Willie Wilson (Debra) of Memphis, TN, Angel Wilson and Nicole Wilson and one step-daughter: Bernice Wilson of Memphis, TN, six sisters: Stella Murray (Hubert), Shirley Showers (Ollie) Bettye Ann Cook (James Allen), Doll-lene Murray (William), Georgia Lester, Annie Pearl and three brothers: Walter Townsend, Leroy Townsend and Melvin Westbrook all of Oxford, MS, many other relatives and friends.
