Jennie (Simmons) Washington

Obituary
Jennie Simmons Washington was born Sept. 27, 1929 to the late Minnette Simmons Lesure and
Alfred Mack Lesure in Holly Springs, MS.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Hopewell #2 M.B.C. where she remained a faithful
member until her health failed her. She served part of the Mother Ministry as well as a dedicated
Sunday School attendee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Washington Jr. Parents, Alfred and Minnette
Lesure, sister, Callie Theresa Crumb, three sons, Tom Dallas Washington, Roy Lee Washington,
and Chester B. Washington.
She leaves to forever cherish her memories: two sons, Albert Washington & Grant Isom (Isola);
two daughters, Shirley Grigsby-Roe (Perry) & Margaret Griffin (James); one daughter-in-law,
Hattie Mae Washington; 53 grandchildren, 99 great-grand children, 27 great great-grandchildren;
a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; and, her best friend for years, Ms. Ola Mae Turner
