Deacon Roy Lee "Sonny" McGaughy

MANTACHIE- Deacon Roy Lee "Sonny" McGaughy, 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2018 at Magnolia Manor in Tupelo.  He was born March 29, 1939 in Plantersville, MS to John McGaughy and Mae Orer McGaughy Clemons.
He was a member and Deacon of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Mantachie, where he served faithfully. He worked for Phillips Day-Brite for 44 years until his retirement in 2011.

He is survived by daughters: Tressa Walker and Pamela Walker, both of Tupelo, sons; Timothy (Caron) Wade of Fulton, Charles (Felicia) McGaughy of Mantachie, sisters: Annie Collins, Linda James, Linda Crayton, Aseelah (Ajamu) Babalola, all of Clear Water, FL, Brenda Douglas of OH, a brother; Eddy Clemons of Clearwater, FL.

Services will be Tuesday, May 29, 2018, 3:00 p.m. at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Mantachie, MS, burial at Trinity CME Church Cemetery, Guntown, MS. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home, New Albany, MS is in charge of arrangements.
