I'd also like to acknowledge Mrs. Della Richmond, Sirrita Kelley, Marshall Jean Alexander, Antegious and his many friends from my hometown of Byhalia, MS 38611 who grew up with Jerome.

My most sincere condolences to his family.
I've known Jerome since grade school at Galena Elementary. I even remember the first time we met. I was in second grade in Mrs. Anna Richmond's class. His sister Sabrina liked to fight. So one day she put a stick on her shoulder and dared anyone to knock it off. John Sammie Mitchell walked by her and casually flicked the twig off of her shoulder. Sabrina jumped on him. John Sammie wouldn't fight her. He just held her down on the ground. Sabrina couldn't get up and was just kicking and screaming, "Go get Jerome! Go get Jerome!". Someone did indeed go to get him and he came to her rescue. He was in the sixth grade then. He was big, but he was calm, cool and knew how to carry himself. I've never heard him raise his voice. He loved his mother dearly and was always the mild mannered and protective BIG BROTHER.
I was overjoyed to find out he'd given his life to Christ and joined his family's church. I was overjoyed when I learned that his mother's church had crowned him to be a deacon. Jerome was a good guy. He was proud the day he became a father and I knew from day one that Anita would be a "Daddy's girl".
May he sleep in peace until his soul is quickened again in first resurrection. See ya later Jerome!
