NEW ALBANY- Cortavious LeShawn "Mista" Harris, 21, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the comfort of his home in New Albany. He was born on October 10, 1997 to Yolanda Rucker and Jessie Harris. At an early age he professed his hope in Christ and joined Pine Bluff M.B. Church in Myrtle, MS. He also loved visiting New Birth Church in New Albany with his brother. Cortavious loved playing basketball and playing his games and was an very outgoing young man. He attended school at Mississippi School of Deaf in Jackson, MS.

Services will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 2:30p.m. at New Birth Community Church in New Albany with Pastor Johnathan Tucker delivering the eulogy. Burial will take place at Gerizum Cemetery in Myrtle. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his mother: Yolanda Rucker. His father: Jessie Harris of Hickory Flat, MS. Two sisters: Courtney Rucker (22) of New Albany and Quacia Wilson (21) of Ripley, MS. Two brothers: Corvall Collins (26) of Guntown, MS and Caleb Ross (7) of Ashland, MS. A special friend: Johnathan Scales of New Albany. His grandparents: Larry Johnson, Sr., and Nader Johnson of New Albany. Grandfather: Billy Cobb of Racine, WI. His grandmother: Lovie Collins whom preceded him in death and grandfather: Curtis Lipsey whom also preceded him in death.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 4-6p.m. at Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home Chapel.
